Honoring the life of Jackie Ann Ronk (Smith)

Jackie was more than just my sister—she was a light in all of our lives. She had a smile that could brighten even the darkest days, and a spirit that brought warmth, laughter, and comfort to everyone she met. Full of life and love, Jackie lived in a way that reminded all of us to cherish every moment.

At just 37 years old, we lost Jackie suddenly to a brain aneurysm—a moment that changed our family forever. The day we said goodbye to her, we also said goodbye to a piece of ourselves. Her absence is felt in everything we do. It lives in the quiet moments, in family gatherings, in the milestones she should be here to celebrate. Losing Jackie left a space in our hearts that can never truly be filled.

Jackie was an incredible mother to her three boys—the center of their world. She was a devoted daughter, a loving wife, a caring sister, and a loyal friend. She gave so much of herself to others, always putting people before herself, always showing up with love, compassion, and kindness.

Even in our deepest grief, Jackie continued to give.

As a registered organ donor, Jackie made a choice that reflected exactly who she was—a selfless, giving soul. Because of her, five people were given the gift of life. Countless others were helped through tissue donation, and two individuals were given the precious gift of sight. In 2017, Jackie became a hero. Her legacy is not only in the love she left behind, but in the lives she saved and forever changed.

While we mourn her loss every single day, we also carry immense pride in who she was and what she gave. We hold onto hope and pray that the lives she touched through her donations continue to thrive—that her gifts are honored in the way she lived her life: with love, gratitude, and purpose.

Jackie’s life was a blessing. Her memory is a treasure. And her impact will never fade.

We miss her endlessly, love her deeply, and carry her with us always.
